Some spots around a home just refuse to grow grass well. Add in areas where the ground has settled over time, and you end up with a front and backyard that looks rough no matter how much you water or seed. That was the situation here at this Altoona home - and our repeat customer was ready to stop fighting it.

We reworked the problem areas front and back with clean stone beds and solid concrete edging. The front of the home got a flowing bed along the porch and foundation, a stone ring around the yard tree, and defined borders that follow the natural lines of the walkway and driveway. It ties together nicely with the home's exterior.

Out back, we carried the same approach under the deck and along the full rear foundation. Those areas under decks are notorious for patchy grass and erosion - stone just makes more sense there. It handles water runoff better, cuts down on maintenance, and honestly looks a lot sharper than a muddy, struggling lawn.

The concrete edging is doing a lot of work here. It keeps the stone contained, gives every bed a finished border, and holds up over time without shifting or cracking. That's the kind of detail that makes the whole yard look intentional rather than thrown together.

This is the kind of landscaping work that pays off every single week - no more mowing around problem spots, no more bare patches to explain away. Just a clean, consistent look from the street all the way around the house.
