We came back to this Altoona property to put the finishing touches on a landscape bed we had started a few weeks prior. The rock and edging were already in place - this visit was all about getting the plants in the ground and making everything feel complete.
Laying out the plants before digging is something we always do. It lets us dial in the spacing and make sure the arrangement actually looks right before anything goes in. You can see the whole crew working through that process - positioning, digging, amending the soil, and getting each plant set at the right depth.
The mix of shrubs, ornamental grasses, and flowering perennials gives this bed a lot of visual interest without creating a maintenance headache. Rock beds like this are a solid choice for homeowners who want something that looks sharp without a lot of ongoing upkeep. No mulch to replace every year, less weeding, and it holds up well through the seasons.
What really pulled it together was the curved concrete edging along the bed border. It gives the whole space a clean, finished line that separates the rock from the lawn. Combined with the pathway lights already installed throughout the bed, this front yard went from plain to polished.
Details like plant placement and proper soil prep might seem small, but they're what separates a landscape that looks great for years from one that struggles in the first season. That's the kind of work we put into every job, whether it's a full install or just wrapping up the final phase.
