A customer came to us with a Pinterest idea and asked if we could pull it off. Honestly - we had never done anything quite like this before. But that's exactly the kind of challenge we love.
The concept centers around tipped red pots with black river rock flowing out of them like a spill, winding through a bed of bright white stone. It sounds simple when you describe it, but the execution is everything. Getting the flow of the black rock to look natural, placing the pots at just the right angle, spacing the plants so the whole thing feels alive without looking cluttered - that takes real thought.
We worked with two contrasting rock colors to make the design pop. The white stone creates a clean, open base that lets the black river rock path do its thing visually. Small flowering plants are tucked in throughout, adding color without stealing the show from the main feature. The whole bed wraps around the front of the house in a freeform shape that feels intentional without being rigid.
This is a great example of what landscaping design can do when a homeowner has a vision and a crew willing to figure it out. No template. No cookie-cutter plant-and-mulch setup. Just a custom idea brought to life with quality materials and careful installation.
Not every yard needs to look like every other yard on the block. If you've got an idea sitting in a saved folder somewhere, it might be worth a conversation.
