A lot of people skip the groundwork when they set up an above-ground pool. They drop it straight onto the grass and call it a day. The problem with that? An uneven base puts stress on the frame, causes the pool to shift over time, and just looks rough. Getting the foundation right from the start makes everything easier down the road.
Here's what we put together for this Bondurant backyard - a dedicated pool pad built with pavers, edged clean, and set up so the pool sits solid and level. No wobble, no soft spots, no guesswork. That kind of stable base is what keeps an above-ground pool looking and performing the way it should all summer.
We also tied in a flagstone walkway filled with river rock that connects the pool pad to the rest of the yard. It gives the whole space a finished, intentional feel instead of just a random circle of pavers dropped in the middle of the lawn. The curbed edging around the perimeter keeps everything contained and clean.
The customers handled putting the pool up themselves and even added rubber mats around the sides - and it came together great. That's the thing about getting the hardscape foundation right. It sets everyone up for success, whether we're doing the finishing touches or the homeowners are.
If you've got a backyard idea you're trying to bring to life - a pool pad, a patio, a walkway, or something in between - this is exactly the kind of work we do. Good bones make good backyards.
