A gravel lot with standing water and low spots sounds like a minor inconvenience - until it's your shop space. Wet areas make it hard to move equipment, vehicles get stuck, and the whole lot becomes a muddy mess after any rain. That's exactly what this client in Central Des Moines was dealing with.
Here's what we were working with - multiple soft spots and low areas holding water across the lot, making it genuinely hard to use on a daily basis. The fix wasn't complicated, but it had to be done right. We brought in 20 tons of clean gravel, filled every low spot, and leveled the entire area out so water has somewhere to go instead of just sitting there.
We used a tracked skid steer to move and grade the material across the lot. That type of machine gives us a lot of control when we're spreading and leveling gravel - tight spots, uneven ground, areas right up against a building. It's the right tool for this kind of work.
The end result is a flat, solid, usable surface. No more puddles. No more sinking spots. The client can move through the lot without worrying about what they're driving or walking through. For a commercial property, that's a big deal - downtime and accessibility problems cost money.
This is the kind of grading work we do regularly for commercial clients across the Des Moines area. If your lot has drainage issues, low spots, or just needs fresh gravel brought in and leveled out, we can help with that.
